Sannikov refuses to go to Babruisk colony
The presidential candidate says through his lawyer that he may be sent to the penal colony in Babruisk today.
Taking into accounts repeated threats to his life and health, Sannikov refuses to go to the colony until receiving solid guarantees of his security and eliminating the threat to his life and health that was artificially created by the Corrections Department and the administration of detention facility Nr2 in Vitsebsk and Mahilou prison Nr1.
We remind that Andrei Sannikov’s wife, Iryna Khalip, said at a press conference in Minsk yesterday that the presidential candidate’s transfer from the Navapolatsk penal colony to the colony in Babruisk already lasted more than a week. The political prisoner is in prison in Mahilou now. Andrei Sannikov is under pressure receiving threats to kill him either during the transit or in the Babruisk colony. The pressure is obviously applied to make the political prisoner sign a pardon petition.
