Belarus and Argentina have signed an intergovernmental agreement on visa-free travel for citizens of the two countries, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The document was concluded in Minsk during the Belarusian-Argentinean ministerial consultations. The parties discussed joint steps in intensifying the Belarusian-Argentinean relations. Special attention was paid to further development of the bilateral dialogue in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian areas, and also cooperation in international organizations.

The agreement will enter into force after all the necessary internal procedures are completed. The exact term of visa cancellation is unknown.

At present Belarusian citizens may enter three countries of South America without a visa – Venezuela (for up to 90 days), Peru (for up to 183 days for tourism), Ecuador (for up to 30 days). Belarus also has a visa-free travel agreement with Brazil, but the entry has yet entered into force.
