UN compiles rating of best places to live, Belarus at 50th place

Our country has risen three places in the “human development” ranking for one year.

Each year, the UN compiles a “Human development report”. It assesses 188 countries on such criteria as life expectancy, education, income per inhabitant, etc.

In this year’s ranking, which contains a report, Belarus is in the 50th place and is sharing it with Russia. A year ago, our country was in the 53th place.

In Belarus, the average life expectancy is 71.3 years. On average, Belarusian receives $16,676 of annual national income. Belarus is among the group of countries with “high human development”, the first 49 countries are marked with “a very high level.”

Norway tops the list and has ranked first for 12 consecutive years. The two countries, that have seen the largest drop in the ranking for the year are Libya (dropped 27 places) and Syria (dropped 15 places).
