Belarus set to launch 4G networks in 2016
The 4G telecommunication technology will appear in Belarus after the New Year, First Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatization Dzmitry Shadko told Belarus 1 TV channel.
The tests on the forth-generation telecommunication equipment are under way in Minsk, he said. All telecom operators in Belarus has built a 3G network with the maximum data transfer speed at slightly over 40 Mbit/secod. The forth-generation technology make it possible to transfer data in LTE networks with the speed of up to 600 Mbit/second.
The deputy minister said 4G will be already available from January 1, 2016.
