Action of Solidarity with political prisoners took place at 19.00 on October 24 at Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk. Organizer of the action - the civil campaign "European Belarus".
Already a few hours before the action started the authorities have begun to draw up security forces on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
On the square there were several buses carrying the Special Purpose Police Units (OMON), and also there were a lot of security forces in plain clothes. Several dozen journalists were watching the action, policemen tried to check their personal things.
The action was attended by about 15 people, they stood on the square in two groups without any attribution and slogans.
Coordinator of the "European Belarus" Maxim Vinyarski was detained at the very beginning of the action. He was taken to the police department of Centralny district of Minsk. Former political prisoner Vasily Parfenkov left Kastrychnitskaya Square accompanied by policemen in plain clothes. Most likely he was also arrested.
