Alexander Lukashenko invited to USA
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has been invited to the USA on the occasion of 100th anniversary of U.S. entry into World War I.
The event will take place in Kansas City on 6 April, TUT.BY reports with a reference to the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus.
The heads of other countries who were involved in WWI got invitations to the ceremony as well. Participants of the event will pay tribute to the memory of those who fought in the war.
“The ceremony is also designed to remind the people of the causes and consequences of this conflict,” the Embassy’s press service said.
The inviting party is the the United States World War I Centennial Commission created the Congress.
The invitation has already been sent to the Belarusian side. The reaction to the invitation is not yet known.
The previous visit of the Belarusian head to the USA took place in September 2015.
Alexander Lukashenko took part in the UN Sustainable Development Summit and made a speech during the session of the summit to outline Belarus’ stance on the matter.
