Belarus and USA discuss military cooperation
Belarusian Minister for Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makei and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence Michael Carpenter have discussed the two states’ military cooperation in New York.
The establishment of a direct dialogue between the Belarusian and U.S. Ministries of Defence in the situation of increasing tension in Eastern Europe was also discussed at the meeting.
Makei is paying a visit to New York to take part in the 71st session of the UN General Assembly. He took part in the festive opening of the General Debate ‘The Sustainable Development Goals: a universal push to transform our world’ on September 20.
The Minister met with his European counterparts and representatives of other states when attending protocol events organized by the UN, USA and EU, the MFA press service reports.
