Minsk and Moscow agree on “moderate” growth of oil transit tariffs via Belarus in 2017
The tariff for oil transit from Russia by the Belarusian pipeline operator “Gomeltransneft Druzhba” will be increased by 7.7% in 2017 instead of 20.5% previously requested by Belarus, TASS news agency reported with a reference to the Russian energy official Dmitry Makhonin.
“We believe the increase of 20.5% to be ungrounded, so, in accordance with the procedure, of tariff will be increased 7.7%, which is inflation plus 3%”, he explained.
Previously, another Belarusian pipeline operator “Polotsktransneft Druzhba” agreed with the proposal to increase the tariff for oil transportation from Russia by 11.76% in 2017.
Earlier Belarus declared the intention to raise oil transit tariffs by 20.5% in 2017 against the backdrop of the ongoing oil and gas conflict between the two countries.
The Russian oil pipeline monopoly “Transneft”, in its turn, suggested that the economically reasonable increase would be plus 5.8% for the pipeline passing through Gomel and plus 11.76% for the part of the pipeline going through Polotsk.
