Criminal case initiated against 'epauletted sadists' from Lida
Policemen who severely beat Lida residents Ivan and Bahdan Shkurko may face the trial, Mrs Shkurko told Belsat TV.
It is interesting that launching a criminal investigation into torturers had been denied to the Shkurko family until the case details got leaked to mass media; moreover, the brothers themselves were facing criminal and administrative responsibility for alleged resistance to authority.
It is to be recalled that the dramatic conflict broke out in one of the clubs of Lida (Hrodna region). Its guards battered Ivan and Bahdan Shkurko and called the police. In their turn, the policemen used batons and sprayed pepper gas in Ivan Skurko’s eyes and anus; then they took him to the forest, stripped to the buff and … started pissing on the young man’s head.
It should be noted that human rights defender Andrey Bandarenka came under police harrasment after he made a comment on the case to Belsat TV.
