IMF Mission Arrives in Belarus
A group of experts of the International Monetary Fund led by the head of the Belarusian IMF mission Christopher Jarvis has started working in Minsk today, on February 3.
BelaPaN informs that the mission has to assess the realization of the programme supported by the stand-by credit of 3.53 billion dollars in Belarus. The fund’s experts will also organize consultations about the development of the Belarusian economy last year and its future prospects.
Meetings in the government, the National Bank and the Ministries of Economy and Finance are planned to take place by the end of the mission’s work (February 16). The IMF experts will have to take a decision about the allocation of the fifth (and the last) tranche of about 700 million dollars to the Belarusian authorities.
According to Natallya Kalydzina, resident IMF representative in Belarus, the mission will also study the economic influence of the changes in the terms of oil transit and supplies from Russia.
