Hrodna-Minsk highway to be renovated using World Bank money
Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin has met with the head of the World Bank’s representative in Belarus Young Chul Kim. They discussed the implementation of projects in the field of transportation financed by the bank. In the near future, the communal services will be engaged in the modernization of the Minsk-Hrodna highway.
We are talking about the modernization of the M-6 transit corridor: a comprehensive removal and disposal of waste, development of water supply systems. The Government has instructed the subordinate structures of teh utilities services to start the work already in this month.
The World Bank is funding a number of programs in the sphere of housing and communal services. The government has already sent to the bank for financing proposals for the construction of iron removal plants, changing the Minsk water supply for the one from underground sources, establishment of facilities for the production of alternative fuels from municipal solid waste and transfer of boiler houses to local fuels.
