Lukashenka: We have never fallen so low
On Tuesday, the head of state made latest appointments and spoke about the economic situation in our country.
On January 27, Alyaksandr Lukashenka spoke about salaries in Belarus. While appointing the new the staff, he spoke how salaries of the officials can grow.
Lukashenka: "We have a difficult situation with salaries of civil servants. And, first of all, officials. Never before in the history of Belarus, have we fallen so low and were lagging behind the average monthly wage in the industry. And there was never such a proportion to the average wage in the country. We are seriously behind."
According to the President, if they now "bulge salaries of civil servants", they would get "a corresponding reaction of the people". Lukashenka believes that if the salaries of officials were to increase, it should be done by optimizing and reducing the state apparatus.
